  1. I think a lot of cartridge load fountain pen has similar problems of not writing right the way. My solution to that is to prime it by gently squeezing the cartridge, so the ink will go through the feed. Can you see I am just impatient? :p

  2. I have been known to do that too. 😀 The thing with this one is that wick needs to be really saturated before you get good flow. I think that is what the majority of the problems that people report on this pen.
