Sheaffer Intensity Carbon Fiber Fountain Pen Review

  1. Cool pen. My wife has wanted the blue/white striped one since we saw it at a pen show this summer. The ones we tried out had pretty nice nibs on them. Perhaps you just got a bit of a dud?

  2. Thank you Mike. I know there can be issues with any pen. I have since fixed the nib to my liking and am enjoying it. I strongly recommend someone getting into fountain pens also consider learning to smooth their own nibs!

  3. Thanks for the review of this pen, Ivan! I’ve been a little curious about the Intensity. I like the shape of this pen, and don’t mind a metal section either. Overall, the pen seems like a good value. Thanks again!

  4. You’re right about learning how to smooth out a nib. I haven’t had to do that yet, and I’m a bit chicken about it. I think my Lamy M-nib could use a little smoothing, but that’s the only one that has any real tooth to it.Well, except for my terrible Hero 360, but that’s a whole ‘nother can of worms. As always, excellent blogging.

  5. Thank you very much Mike. Smoothing a nib is not as scary as it sounds. Practicing on cheap pens first, helps a lot.

  6. David, I did not even think about the screw cap. Most of my Sheaffer’s have them except for my Javelin. Thanks. According to the box, yes, it is made in China.
